so despite the fact that gustav is not in fact hitting us directly, it apparently got a little bit larger since the last time I saw it, which means that we've actually got a fair bit of nasty weather down here. like, tornado watches, sideways palms and lotsa rain. exciting! i'm contemplating whether or not I should go swimming while it's not as bad out there..... hmmmm. and also whether I should drive to walgreens to get milk, and since walgreens happens to be right next to it's very own liquor store, perhaps some sort of adult beverage. jack and ginger? rum and something? so many choices. I got this amber hard cider yesterday which is gross. tastes exactly like beer. disGUSting. but the cookies i made last night are not. they're incredibly tasty. the sugar ants agree. my condo seems to have sugar ants everywhere. i've gone on the offensive though. ant raid, ant traps and this little ant drops things that the condo maintenance guy gave me. these suckers are toast. as long as they don't decide to combine forces and overtake me. because let's face it. with their combined power, they'd win.
I spent the afternoon (after falling asleep while watching csi) doing laundry and cleaning for the new roommates. they're both supposed to get here tomorrow afternoon. i'm excited to meet them, but at the same time, if you know me at all, you know who i lived with this past year. 821. the legendary apartment. honestly i don't think there was much that we didn't do. so while i'm excited to meet my new roommates- one from jersey and one from switzerland (!), i know they can't possibly live up to family love 821. much less could anyone match my roommate's wonderfulness. I just kind of hope we all get along decently well. And, jump back, from what i've gathered from talking to them it sounds like I could be the 'wild one' out of the group. I know right? makes absolutely no sense. i'll keep you posted. (ahaha. Posted. ahem. ok i'm done) I also hope that they clean up after themselves so we don't end up starring in our own horror movie: Invasion of the Sugar Ants: Part one- the Attack. seriously.
