so, let's dish

Sorry, I'm watching the office right now and while i was trying to think of some witty little line to put in the title, I figured I'd type a quote from the office instead. if you're smart, you'll appreciate it cause you appreciate the office. (once again, thank you tally for telling me i'd love it). my current apartmentmates whom I will probably refer to as roommates for convenience's sake and not for any idea that they are like 821 or my roommate at all, got here sunday and monday and they both seem pretty cool. Allie is from New Jersey and Sandy is from Switzerland. They both graduated this past may so we're all in the same boat of being just out of college and none of us have lived in florida. (side note, we're watching some show on tv now and zach morris is totally in it. except he's got longer brown wavy hair. completely bizarre. looks a little like heath ledger. not gonna lie). Annnnnnnyways allie's super tall, and sandy is pretty tall so i feel super short all the time. GOSH. ok, you know what i'm gonna write more about the roommates later, cause they're both currently right next to me and i'm kinda paranoid about them reading over my shoulder. not that i'm saying anything bad buuuuuuuuut.
So yesterday was labor day but the other intern (super smart from cornell whom i will call Cornell) and i had to go in. so we took care of the freakin birds who screamed in my ear during the morning feeding which was not fun, and we scanned lots of stuff. and we practiced baby observations and did a jax (our little shark attack victim dolphin) respirate, where you count the number of times they breathe for five minutes. it's to get a baseline for respirations while they're healthy and that way if their breathing changes you can check for sickness and stuff. it was a pretty dull morning and in the afternoon i went out and asked the trainers who were in for the day to feed the dolphins if they needed any help which they did not, but one of them had brought in her adorable little boxer dog and had her down on the dock by the dolphins. so jess (the trainer) let me and cornell come down and play with the dolphins. we sat on the dock and gave backrubs and played fetch with the adorable little babies! little gypsi brought me seaweed and i'd take it out of her mouth and throw it and she'd chase it and bring it back. and adorable ras bobbed up and down in front of cornell and played fetch too. however, jess left with her boyfriend and dog to go to the big boys (the five big dolphin boys) and didn't tell us to leave so we just stayed down on the docks for a while until sarah came down and was like, 'you guys know you can't be down here without a trainer present. i'm mean, i'm not trying to be the bad guy but you really can't be down here' which i mean makes sense and we left immediately but cornell and i were like, 'man i wish jess had told us to get out or someone had told us to get out right then we totally would have. we just don't like the idea that those trainers might think of us as the deviant interns now. i dunno, a lot of the trainers walk around like they're so much better than the rest of us. a few of them are really nice and helpful but most of them seem like they think we should put them on a pedestal cause they're THE dolphin trainers.
luckily i love the research people. Jane is freakin hilarious and emily's super sweet and funny. plus i love working the research sessions. and i think i finally know most of the 19 dolphins by sight now! i adore pandora and cayo. cayo will practice dives and jumps on her own and she'll wave to you. and pandora talks to you if you blow her a kiss. fun!
and i'm sorry roommate. still no fun stories. (unlike the ONE you wrote about recently. nice) however i am going to check out key west ultimate pickup tomorrow. i'm just going to throw- no running still cause of my retarded messed up feet and i want them to be competely healed before i run again. so i'll try to find a hot frisbee boy and take him home. or go home with him. JUST for you roommate. and sabrina. and tally. to keep you...entertained.

I am so freakin' envious right now. Homer never plays fetch with me. If only I had me some dolphins.

I really like the idea of you finding some young man just to keep me entertained. In the spirit of waiting on me...35 days til my birthday. All I want is you. Make it work.
